When I stopped practicing contortion and focused on handstands instead, I never anticipated the impact it would have on my health. Between pregnancy and general stress, my nerves were under strain.
After my third child, I experienced intense nerve pain in my arms. Since giving birth, I had mainly been doing handstands with little stretching. The pain was so severe that I relied on ibuprofen for two weeks straight. While unsure of the cause, I knew that stretching had helped alleviate my leg pain in the past. I began stretching and taking thrive supplements. It wasn't an instant fix, but over time, the pain gradually faded away.
The pain extended from my arms to my neck and shoulders, prompting a recommendation to consult a neurologist. Now in my thirties, stretching has become a vital part of maintaining my health. Originally, contortion was just a fun activity, without much consideration for its impact on my nerve health. Surprisingly, it turned out to be beneficial for my well-being. In my thirties, I am both excited and cautious as I resume contortion, albeit at a slower pace due to numerous responsibilities. Nevertheless, I am thrilled to rediscover the joy of contortion once again.
